I will first talk with the parent or caregiver to get an idea of the issues, the home set-up and the childs schedule.
As I would work with an adult, I will work hands-on with the child to talk about what is going on, help them make good decisions on items, and set up their room and/or desk the way that works with them. Working with someone outside of the situation tends to yield great results!
